The California Young Lawyers Association is collaborating with the Business Law Section on its 2012 "Hot Topics" Teleseminar Series, ten Wednesday lunchtime teleseminars in March, April and May. Each teleseminar is 1 hour long and offers 1 hour of MCLE credit. You must register in advance in order to participate.

Susan Mac Cormac, co-chair of the Working Group for the Flexible Purpose Corporation will participate in the April 4th teleseminar. The teleseminar will focus on the Benefit Corporation and Flexible Purpose Corporation, providing an exploration of the positives and negatives of each new corporate form being tested in California and other states and how they differ from traditional corporations, LLCs and partnerships. The presentation will provide preliminary answers to the questions of whether a new form is even necessary and which model can best serve various constituencies, and case law beyond the marketing and PR spin.
