In this program, our experts will outline some of the climate changes facing attorneys, resource managers, governments, and infrastructure planners, as well as some of the ways in which they are beginning to address the risks posed by climate impacts. Environmental and energy law are at the forefront of these novel legal questions. The attorneys in these areas analyze the environmental impacts under federal and state laws like NEPA and CEQA, address mitigation and adaption requirements, and assess the water supply, while also evaluating possible carbon markets and advising on corporate sustainability. When advising clients on climate change risk, lawyers must understand domestic legislation, international agreements, and constantly adapting regulation.
