Alex Chartove's practice focuses on intellectual property prosecution, litigation, counseling and licensing in a variety of advanced technologies, including medical devices, biomedical implants, robotics, semiconductors, software design, telecommunications, computer peripherals, encryption, coding and information theory, display technologies, optical networking, and financial services and transactional business methods.
A renowned expert on intellectual property issues, Mr. Chartove has written and spoken on a wide range of patent law topics both in the U.S. and Asia. His widely referenced Patent Law Developments briefings for the Patent Law Institute were translated into both Chinese and Japanese. More recently, he has spoken internationally about developments in the U.S. patent reform effort as well as creating valuable patent portfolios. In 2005, he was a finalist in the Washington Business Journal's Top Washington Lawyers in the Intellectual Property category.
While earning his J.D., Mr. Chartove was an Associate Editor of the Journal of Law and Contemporary Problems.
