Alex Hadjis is chair of the firm’s International Trade Commission (ITC) Practice and former co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group.

Mr. Hadjis serves as lead counsel in cases before the federal district courts and the ITC. The cases Mr. Hadjis has tried and litigated include patent, antitrust, and breach of contract cases that cover the semiconductor, liquid crystal display, telecommunications, optical storage media, software, electronic systems, computer network, fluid dynamics and heat exchange, xerography, chemical, and automotive component fields.
Two examples of Mr. Hadjis’s trial victories include a major defense win against Philips and a plaintiff win for Genesis Microchip. Mr. Hadjis is responsible for successfully employing an antitrust-based patent misuse trial defense against Philips in the Certain Recordable Compact Discs and Rewritable Compact Discs ITC case. His trial defense in that case pertained to patents from a patent pooling arrangement that reportedly garnered over $1 billion in revenues. He is also responsible for obtaining an injunction for Genesis Microchip as a result of a trial victory against the entire LCD controller product line of MStar Semiconductor.
Mr. Hadjis has successfully tried and litigated numerous cases in the semiconductor technology area for companies such as Cypress Semiconductor, Freescale, Genesis Microchip, Huawei, Intel, Spansion, and Thomson.
Mr. Hadjis is consistently recognized by several third-party publications as a leading attorney in intellectual property law, including Chambers USA, Chambers Global, Legal 500, IAM Patent 1000, Super Lawyers, and The Washington Post.
