Alexei Klestoff is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office.  Mr. Klestoff has a broad-based litigation practice, emphasizing complex litigation matters involving antitrust, breach of contract, licensing disputes, business torts, trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, and consumer class actions in federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration before JAMS and the American Arbitration Association.

Mr. Klestoff graduated cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2002.  While at Georgetown, Mr. Klestoff served as a Senior Project Editor on the American Criminal Law Review.  Mr. Klestoff speaks Russian and is active in San Francisco’s Russian community. 

Representative Matters

  • Assisted in the successful defense of a GPS manufacturer in an arbitration involving claims of solicitation of employees in Moscow, Russia, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of a licensing agreement. In that proceeding, Mr. Klestoff was heavily involved in interaction with Russian witnesses, and defended a Russian-language deposition of a witness in Moscow.

  • Assisted in the representation of a Russian technology company and inventor of global positioning systems technology involving breach-of-contract and fraud claims arising out of the purchase of a technology company.

  • Assisted in the representation of an independent power producer in federal securities actions.

  • Assisted in the representation of a publicly-traded energy company in antitrust actions arising out of the 2001 California energy crisis.
