Ami Tanabe is Of Counsel in the Tokyo Finance Department. Ms. Tanabe's practice primarily focuses on real estate transactions, real estate finance, and real estate-related environmental law.
Ms. Tanabe received her LL.B. from Kyoto University in 2000. She completed her legal study at the Legal Training and Research Institute of the Supreme Court of Japan, was admitted to practice in Japan in 2001 (54th term), and received her LL.M. from Columbia Law School in 2006. After her graduate study at Columbia University School of Law, she worked in the New York office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. Ms. Tanabe is a member of Dai-ichi Tokyo Bar Association.
Ms. Tanabe joined Taiyo Law Office (registered association with Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, Tokyo) in 2001. After three years of practice there, in 2005 she joined Ito & Mitomi/Morrison & Foerster LLP, Tokyo, where she continues her practice today.
