Dr. Amy Mills is an associate in the San Diego office of Morrison & Foerster. Her practice focuses on patent prosecution and counseling in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and other life sciences industries. Dr. Mills has a background in immunology and cancer biology. She works with clients in a number of areas, including cancer therapeutics and diagnostics, antibodies, biologics, small molecules, stem cells, cleantech, nutraceuticals, and biomarkers. She periodically assists in patent litigation matters.
Dr. Mills is co-founder of Morrison & Foerster’s Antibody Group, which provides comprehensive legal services to clients in the antibody technology space.
Dr. Mills earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she was awarded the Academic Achievement Scholarship and Valedictorian Award. Before and during law school, she worked as a patent agent with Morrison and Foerster and other firms. She received a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Mills is a member of the State Bar of California and is registered to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. She is a member of the American Intellectual Property Association, the San Diego Intellectual Property Association, the Antibody Society, Athena San Diego, and the Association for Women in Science.
