Aramide Fields is an associate in the Litigation Department and has represented clients in the pharmaceutical, medical device, nutritional supplement, consumer product, and aviation industries. She has experience in a broad range of litigation matters, including product liability litigation, commercial litigation, false advertising disputes, and competitive challenges. Ms. Fields handles all procedural aspects of cases including court appearances, motion practice, pretrial work, and settlement. She also counsels clients on various issues related to advertising and consumer protection law and on compliance with state and federal privacy statutes, including compliance with HIPAA and other laws governing the collection and use of medical and health information.
In January 2010, Ms. Fields returned to the San Diego office after spending two years working in the firm’s Tokyo office. She was selected by the firm to assist the Tokyo litigation attorneys with a number of international arbitrations and internal investigations for several of the firm’s Fortune 500 clients in the areas of antitrust and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Ms. Fields gained significant knowledge regarding complex issues in multijurisdictional disputes and doing business in Japan.
In 2012, Ms. Fields completed a nine-month secondment to a client that manufactures medical devices, pharmaceutical products, and consumer products in the eye-care industry. She provided legal guidance on promotional materials and competitive advertising challenges. Ms. Fields also advised on product liability issues related to litigation, product safety, and product recalls.
Ms. Fields received her B.A. with high distinction from the University of Virginia in 2001, and her J.D. with pro bono distinction from Stanford Law School in 2005. Ms. Fields is admitted to practice in California and is a member of the Wallace Chapter of the American Inns of Court.
