Ashley Boyoung Yeum is an associate in Morrison & Foerster's Patent Group, based in the firm's Northern Virginia office. Ms. Yeum's practice focuses on patent procurement, client counseling, and litigation support.
Ms. Yeum advises clients regarding the patentability of their inventions and helps to maximize legal protections for clients’ innovations. Ms. Yeum has drafted a number of patent applications directed toward various technologies, including computer hardware and software, smart phones, medical devices, semiconductor designs and manufacturing, and wireless communication systems, among others. Ms. Yeum has been involved in appeals and reexamination proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as well as litigating patent matters before the U.S. district courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Ms. Yeum received her J.D. degree in 2011 from Georgetown University Law Center. She received her B.S. in electrical engineering in 2008 from Duke University. Before joining Morrison & Foerster as an associate, Ms. Yeum had previously worked at the firm as a law clerk.
