Braden Powell is an associate in the Patent Group. His practice includes domestic and international patent prosecution, client counseling, and patent litigation and litigation support in a wide range of technologies, including electronics, Internet and software applications, networking, telecommunications, circuit designs, clean technology, and semiconductor processing and processing equipment.

Mr. Powell received his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he was a member of the Stanford Law and Technology Association and the Stanford Intellectual Property Association. During law school, he served as a member editor of the Stanford Technology Law Review and as a student pro bono participant in the Volunteer Attorney Program at Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Powell interned as an electrical engineer for a government defense contractor focusing on electronic submarine components including hydrophone arrays, laser control systems, and control cabinet power supplies. Prior to working on maritime defense systems, Mr. Powell interned as an electrical engineer for an artificial diamond manufacturer developing an innovative oil and gas drill. There he designed, tested, and built circuitry to convert and regulate power and transfer it to oil well measurement tools built into the diamond-studded drill bit.

Mr. Powell received his B.S., summa cum laude, in electrical engineering from Brigham Young University, where he was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
