Chris Eide's practice concentrates on domestic and international patent prosecution, IP strategic planning, IP due diligence, technology licensing, and intellectual property disputes involving complex technology. He has worked on matters involving critical areas such as Internet and software technology, numerous data storage technologies, networking, semiconductors, MEMS devices, and medical devices.

Mr. Eide provides patent prosecution and counseling services to companies of all sizes, from industry leaders such as DreamWorks Animation to early-stage companies such as Orbit Baby. He has played essential roles in patent disputes involving high technology, including representing Nichia against Seoul Semiconductor in the Eastern District of Texas. He was also part of the trial team that represented Codian in a patent dispute with Polycom that ended favorably for the client.

While earning his B.S., Mr. Eide was a recipient of the Mary Gates Endowment Award. During law school, he was Associate Editor for the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review.

Seoul Semiconductor Co. v. Nichia Corporation
(Eastern District of Texas). Favorably settled high-stakes patent litigation on behalf of Nichia Corporation against Seoul Semiconductor Co. concerning blue laser diodes and LEDs. The case settled favorably shortly after the claim construction hearing. (2009)
