David Varney is an associate in the London office of Morrison & Foerster and is a member of the Technology Transactions Group and the Global Sourcing Group.
Mr. Varney advises on a wide range of non-contentious technology matters, including commercial technology transactions, intellectual property licensing, software licensing and development.
Mr. Varney has drafted and negotiated various IT services agreements, software development agreements, software licences and maintenance and support agreements. He has represented a range of customer and supplier organisations, including telecommunication businesses, pharmaceutical companies and technology providers. He has recently advised a leading multi-national technology company in relation to data protection issues and telecommunication regulations in the UK and is currently advising on an outsourcing renegotiation for a leading financial services provider.
After obtaining a BSc. (Hons) in Natural Sciences in 2004 from the University of Durham, Mr. Varney completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course in London, in 2007 and 2008 respectively.
