SAN DIEGO (March 18, 2013) – Morrison & Foerster partner Don Rushing has been named a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier professional legal associations in America. Mr. Rushing was inducted into the college before an audience of more than 600 people at the organization’s 2013 spring meeting in Naples, Florida.
Mr. Rushing is a trial lawyer and a recognized authority on bet-the-company litigation, representing companies in the aviation, consumer product, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries. Mr. Rushing has served as national coordinating and trial counsel for companies in mass disaster, serial tort, and toxic tort matters that involved class action, multi-jurisdiction, and multi-district proceedings in more than 25 states. He is also an associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a certified civil trial advocate of the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and a member of the American Law Institute.
Mr. Rushing received his J.D. in from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law, his M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, and his B.S. from the U.S. Air Force Academy. During law school, Mr. Rushing was a member of the UCLA Law Review editorial board. Before law school, Mr. Rushing served as a U.S. Air Force officer with the Air Force System Command’s Space and Missile Systems Organization.
Founded in 1950, the college is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada. Fellowship in the college is extended by invitation only, after careful investigation, to experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of professionalism, civility, and collegiality.
