Erol C. Basol

Erol Basol is an associate in the firm’s Patent Group. Mr. Basol focuses his practice on all aspects of patent prosecution and counseling.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Basol worked as an engineer and as a Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) consultant. He also served as an extern for the Honorable Alex Kozinski, Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Basol earned his J.D. at the University of California Los Angeles School of Law, where he was an articles editor of the UCLA Journal of Law and Technology (JOLT) and elected to the Order of the Coif. He earned his M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and his B.A. in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.

Mr. Basol is an active member of the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association (LAIPLA) as well as the Judge Paul R. Michel Intellectual Property American Inn of Court. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is fluent in Turkish.
