Gautam V. Kene is a patent litigation associate in the Palo Alto office of Morrison & Foerster. Mr. Kene has represented clients such as Elpida, Qualcomm, SAP and others in patent litigation suits involving a broad array of technologies, such as general purpose processors, DRAMs, and software applications.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Kene was an associate in the Palo Alto office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. Before attending law school, Mr. Kene worked as a Staff Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, designing and analyzing advanced defense and counter-terrorism systems, and was awarded the MIT Excellence Award for his work there.
Mr. Kene received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California-Berkeley in 2002 and his J.D. from Columbia University Law School in 2008, where he was an Articles Editor on the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law. At Columbia Law School, he received the Parker School Certificate in Foreign and Comparative Law. Mr. Kene also studied engineering at the University of Tokyo, and law at Waseda Law School. He was a Blakemore-Freeman Fellow from 2008 to 2009.
Mr. Kene is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has business fluency in written and spoken Japanese.
