His work in the consumer electronics area has helped to shape the landscape of cutting-edge smartphone and tablet technologies.
Mr. Kubota represents, or has represented, clients involved in consumer electronics, storage area networks, optical systems, automatic test equipment, solar cells, broadband communications, cellular communications, video signal processing, interactive television, optical switching networks, Internet content delivery systems, disk drives, medical devices, semiconductor wafer handling, mechanical devices, and electronic musical instruments.
Mr. Kubota is a member of the firm’s Patent Operations Committee, which decides best practices, policies, and procedures for the firmwide Patent Group.
Before becoming a patent attorney, Mr. Kubota was an electrical engineer and technical supervisor at Hughes Aircraft Company, where he led teams in the development of communications payloads for military satellites.
Mr. Kubota received both his Bachelors of Science degree in electrical engineering and Masters of Science in computer engineering from the University of Southern California.
