For presentation materials, click here.

Despite the sovereign crisis and heightened volatility, the covered bond market remains very attractive. Foreign banks continue to access the U.S. markets with covered bond offerings. We will discuss the market environment, the legal and regulatory considerations, and the process for an exempt offering by a foreign issuer.

In this, the fourth and final briefing of a four part series on International Banking, Partners Jerry R. Marlatt and Anna T. Pinedo will address the following topics:

  • Current trends in covered bonds and an update on the European market;
  • An update on legislation;
  • Section 3(a)(2) versus Rule 144A; and
  • Bank regulatory considerations.

PLI will provide CLE credit.
