Jennifer Marines has experience representing Chapter 11 debtors, creditors, investors and other parties in interest in complex corporate reorganizations.  She has represented financial institutions in a range of transactions, including acquisitions of troubled companies and structuring of corporate and credit transactions, debtor-in-possession financings, ยง363 acquisitions, pre-packaged bankruptcy cases, and exit financings.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Marines was a bankruptcy partner in the New York office of another international law firm, where she focused on various representations, primarily in the retail, hospitality, manufacturing, shipping and telecommunications sectors.  Ms. Marines also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert D. Drain, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of New York.

Ms. Marines earned her J.D. cum laude in 2005 from Brooklyn Law School, where she was a Notes and Comments Editor for the Brooklyn Journal of International Law and a student law clerk for Hon. Stuart M. Bernstein, Chief Judge, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, S.D.N.Y. She earned her B.A. in political science from Williams College.

Residential Capital, LLC
(Bankr. S.D.N.Y.) Counsel to Residential Capital, one of the largest residential real estate finance companies with assets and liabilities each in excess of $15 billion, whose business is comprised primarily of loan servicing and origination, and its subsidiary companies, in their pending chapter 11 cases. Residential Capital was the largest bankruptcy filing of 2012 and the case represents the first time ever that a mortgage servicer was able to successfully continue servicing and originating mortgages in bankruptcy and be sold as a going concern.
