John K. Blake, Jr. is an associate in the Litigation Department in Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office. His practice focuses on intellectual property and antitrust litigation.
Mr. Blake earned his B.A. from Wesleyan University, where he won the Frances M. Sheng Award for excellence in Japanese language, and his J.D., cum laude, from Cornell Law School. While in law school, he served as an editor of the Cornell Law Review.
Prior to law school, Mr. Blake worked for five years as a software engineer in the United States and Japan. Mr. Blake was also a speaker on software development issues, and he has given presentations in English and Japanese at software conferences in New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, and Yokohama. Mr. Blake also spent two years working in the International Relations Section of the city government of Nagano, Japan, where among other duties he served as an interpreter for athletes and official guests of the city during the 1998 Olympic Winter Games. He is active in several U.S.-Japan organizations, and is a Scott M. Johnson Fellow of the U.S.-Japan Leadership Program.
