Joshua Hartman is an associate with Morrison & Foerster's litigation department. He divides his practice between intellectual property litigation and antitrust law. Mr. Hartman's intellectual property experience encompasses patent and copyright litigation, as well as Section 337 disputes pending before the U.S. International Trade Commission. His antitrust experience includes class action litigation involving price-fixing and monopolization claims and civil investigations by the Department of Justice. Mr. Hartman has drafted dispositive motions and Markman briefs, taken depositions, and argued before U.S. district and administrative courts. In 2012, Mr. Hartman received The Burton Award for Legal Achievement's Distinguished Legal Writing Award for the article 'Merger Enforcement Two Years Later: What Clues Does the Obama Administration's Record Hold for Years Ahead.'"

Mr. Hartman received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2009. He received his L.L.M. in Intellectual Property Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2008, graduating with distinction. During law school, Mr. Hartman worked for the Kernochan Center for Law, Media and the Arts, where he studied fair use doctrine and the regulation of libraries, archives, and museums under U.S. copyright law.
