Joshua G. Simon is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department. His practice involves a broad range of complex commercial, environmental, and patent litigation on behalf of consumer product and technology companies, developers, manufacturers, retailers, distributors, and financial institutions. He regularly takes and defends depositions and has extensive experience preparing fact and expert witnesses. He has successfully argued motions to dismiss in many courts throughout California and has represented clients in state and federal appellate courts.
Mr. Simon advises clients on all aspects of litigation and has significant experience in complex issues of environmental law. He has represented clients in hazardous substances and toxic tort litigation and in matters under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Proposition 65 (“Prop 65”), and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA).
Before joining the firm in 2009, Mr. Simon received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he served as a senior editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy. While in law school, he was a student advocate at the WilmerHale Legal Services Center, an extern student prosecutor for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, and the chair of the 2009 International J. Reuben Clark Law Society Conference.
Mr. Simon obtained his B.A., magna cum laude, in economics and philosophy from Brigham Young University in 2005, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
