Julie Park is an associate in the Product Liability Group, with a focus on pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and consumer products. Her graduate work in chemistry and experience as a pharmaceutical research scientist give her a firm grasp of the technical issues involved in each case. Ms. Park’s pharmaceutical practice consists primarily of defending clients in failure-to-warn cases. As part of that practice, Ms. Park manages complex cases in mass tort and multidistrict litigation proceedings and regularly works with expert witnesses. She has successfully first-chaired a jury trial and a bench trial to verdict.
Ms. Park also advises clients regarding product liability issues (including warning and labeling requirements under ANSI and the Consumer Product Safety Act), product warnings and recalls, and risk assessments.
In 2011, she was identified as a “Top Young Attorney” by the San Diego Daily Transcript. For the past three years, Ms. Park has received the Wiley W. Manuel Award from the California State Bar for her pro bono contributions.
Ms. Park is an active member of Athena San Diego, an organization that promotes professional growth for women executives and rising managers in science and technology. She sits on the Associates Steering Committee.
Ms Park received her A.B. in chemistry from Harvard University, magna cum laude, in 1999, and her M.S. in organic chemistry from California Institute of Technology in 2002, where she was the recipient of a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship. Prior to law school, Ms. Park was a medicinal chemist for Pfizer, Inc., researching new drugs for the treatment of cancer. Ms. Park received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2008.
