Klinton Miyao is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison & Foerster’s Washington, D.C. office.  His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation on behalf of a broad range of mature and emerging businesses, including cases involving antitrust, financial services, and intellectual property issues.  Mr. Miyao has drafted dispositive and discovery-related motions and amicus curiae briefs to the United States Supreme Court.  He has also represented clients in civil investigations by the Department of Justice and in federal and state administrative proceedings.

Mr. Miyao received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as Strategy Editor of the Virginia Tax Review.  During law school, Mr. Miyao gained trial experience through participation in the Criminal Defense Clinic.  He received his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Miyao worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as a senior business analyst, where he focused on the development and implementation of business process improvements and managed Sarbanes-Oxley compliance audits.  He was also a participant in a management development program at The Capital Group Companies, during which he assisted with the development and launch of a mutual fund share class and coordinated an internal assessment to ensure compliance with Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act requirements.

Mr. Miyao is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia.
