Kyle Mooney’s practice includes representing clients in complex federal litigation, particularly patent, intellectual property and securities litigation.

He has represented clients in patent and other intellectual property disputes in a wide variety of fields, including semiconductors, LEDs, plasma televisions, unified communications systems, Internet and other networking technology, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals. Mr. Mooney also has represented clients in connection with internal and government securities fraud investigations, and securities class actions.

Mr. Mooney received his J.D. from New York University School of Law where he was a staff editor for the Environmental Law Journal.

Pioneer v. Samsung
(Eastern District of Texas) Represented Pioneer in patent infringement action against Samsung relating to plasma televisions. Won jury verdict of willful infringement and substantial damages award. (2006-2008)
Web Telephony v. Avaya
(Eastern District of Texas) Represented Avaya in patent infringement action relating to internet-enabled unified communications systems. (2009-Present)
ANDA Litigation
Represented major generic manufacturers in ANDA litigation, including sedatives and direct thrombin inhibitors.
In re UnitedHealth Group, Inc. Securities Litigation
(District of Minnesota) Represented the former chair of the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors of UnitedHealth Group in government investigations and civil actions relating to alleged stock options backdating. (2006-2008)
In re ICP Asset Management
Represented senior portfolio manager in government investigations of potential fraud in the management of several multi-billion dollar CDOs. (2009-Present)
