Kyle Mooney is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group focusing on patent litigation and other intellectual property disputes, including copyright, trademark, and trade secret disputes.
Mr. Mooney has litigated significant IP disputes between direct competitors, as well as patent infringement actions brought by non-practicing entities. He represents clients in a wide variety of fields, including semiconductors, LEDs, optical storage, plasma televisions, software, networking/communications, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.
Mr. Mooney’s IP practice has included jury trials, bench trials, ITC proceedings and mediations. In 2008, following a two-week jury trial, a jury rendered a substantial verdict for client Pioneer in a patent infringement suit against a direct competitor relating to plasma televisions.
Mr. Mooney has represented clients in connection with internal and government securities fraud investigations, and securities class actions. He also has substantial pro bono experience, including a bench trial in a case involving the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act and arguments before the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and Appellate Division in habeas and criminal appeals.
Mr. Mooney received his J.D. from New York University School of Law where he was a staff editor for the Environmental Law Journal.
