Leslie Lao is an associate in the firm’s State + Local Tax Group. Her practice focuses on state and local tax controversies at the audit, administrative, and judicial levels. Ms. Lao also advises taxpayers with respect to state and local tax planning issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Lao worked in the legal department of a large multinational software company, where she negotiated reseller and distribution licensing transactions and various revenue deals.
Ms. Lao earned her J.D. from the University of California Davis School of Law, where she served as a senior notes and comments editor of the UC Davis Law Review. She earned her B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley. Ms. Lao is admitted to practice in California and is a member of the Taxation Section of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and the Sacramento County Bar Association.
