Lucas Muñoz is an associate in the firm’s Employment and Labor Group. He represents and counsels employers on a broad range of complex employment and labor law matters arising under federal and state laws. As a member of the firm’s Employment and Labor Practice Group, Mr. Muñoz specializes in defending and advising clients regarding a number of labor and employment law issues, including wrongful termination, employment discrimination, harassment, wage and hour compliance, class action avoidance and defense, employment policies and procedures, trade secrets, and unfair competition.
Mr. Muñoz has substantive jury trial experience, including obtaining a complete defense verdict in a multi-plaintiff wage and hour trial in federal court. He also has appellate experience in both federal and state courts, including delivering oral argument before the California Court of Appeal.
Mr. Muñoz is a member of the American Bar Association and the Bar Association of San Francisco. He is a two-time recipient of the Wiley W. Manuel Pro Bono Service Award. In 2013, Mr. Muñoz was named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine.
Mr. Muñoz received his J.D. in 2007 from Columbia University School of Law, where he was staff editor of the Columbia Law Review and a two-time Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. In the summer of 2005, he served as an intern for the Hon. Richard J. Holwell, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York. Mr. Muñoz received his B.A. from Stanford University in 2002.
