Maggie Mayo is a litigation associate in Morrison & Foerster's San Francisco office. Ms. Mayo’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and consumer class actions in federal and state courts. She has experience representing and advising clients on a variety of matters, including contract disputes, tort claims, and unfair competition claims. Her clients include insurers, financial institutions, retailers, eyewear manufacturers, and start-ups.
She has managed related federal and state litigations, drafted and argued dispositive motions in federal and state courts across the country, taken and defended numerous depositions, lead discovery aspects of complex litigations, and been responsible for preparing and implementing case plans and strategies. Recently, she developed evidence and legal arguments that allowed an insurance company client to force a plaintiff to pay it to settle a coverage action.
Ms. Mayo received her J.D. from U.C. Berkeley School of Law in 2008. During law school, she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable William H. Alsup of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Ms. Mayo received her B.A. in Chemistry, magna cum laude, from Cornell University in 2005.
