Securities Litigation Specialist Timothy Blakely Relocates to Hong Kong from San Francisco
Hong Kong (11/21/2011) – Morrison & Foerster announced today that litigation partner Timothy W. Blakely has relocated to the firm’s Hong Kong office. Mr. Blakely has wide-ranging experience in securities class actions, derivative suits, government and internal investigations, and other complex litigation and regulatory matters. His practice will benefit the firm's extensive roster of multinational clients with interests in the region, as well as clients based in the region with disputes in the United States.
According to Ven Tan, Managing Partner of Morrison & Foerster’s Hong Kong office and a leading corporate lawyer, Mr. Blakely's move is perfectly timed to serve burgeoning client demand, as well as new clients needing these services.

In addition to representing multinational and Chinese clients in U.S. securities litigation and regulatory proceedings, conducting internal investigations, and leading acquisition due diligence involving FCPA matters, Mr. Blakely has represented many well-known public companies in sophisticated compliance, arbitration and litigation issues, including telecommunications, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and financial services firms. Recently he helped secure a unanimous jury verdict for Ernst & Young dismissing audit misrepresentation claims, and helped achieve an arbitration victory for a Russian technology firm in a breach of contract and fraud action. Mr. Blakely also was a key member of the Morrison & Foerster team that won a complete defense verdict in a landmark securities and insider trading class action jury trial for JDS Uniphase.

Mr. Blakely received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001 and an A.B. from Bowdoin College in 1996. He is a former a law clerk to the Honorable Mary A. McLaughlin in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and a former associate with Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York.
