Morrison & Foerster was honored at the 2013 International Tax Review Americas Awards in connection with SoftBank's acquisition of Sprint Nextel and Sprint Nextel's acquisition of Clearwire. The transaction was named Americas Technology & Communications Tax Deal of the Year. MoFo represented SoftBank both in its $21.6 billion acquisition of a 78% stake in Sprint Nextel, and in Sprint Nextel's acquisition of Clearwire. The deal closed in early July.
The awards were presented at a ceremony in New York on Sept. 26.
