Throughout the year, we sponsor internal and external events both office and firmwide that explore topics of interest to women lawyers.
Highlights from the 2013 events calendar include:
- Catalyst Reception – A longstanding Catalyst supporter, we hosted a private reception and dinner for women clients and women partners in conjunction with Catalyst's annual conference, held in New York in March.
- Law Week Colorado – In June, our Denver office participated in a women's roundtable about what it takes for women to succeed in the workplace. The panelists included women in-house counsel and lawyers in private practice.
- 2013 MoFo Summit for Women In-House Counsel – On June 27, approximately 150 women lawyers attended our second annual summit in Tarrytown, N.Y. Sixty MoFo women lawyers and 90 women in-house counsel from more than 60 companies, including Avon, Bayer, Capital One, Celgene, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, McGraw-Hill and Warner Music Group, attended the day-long program. The day after the summit, our women partners participated in the second annual retreat for women partners.
- Women's Bar Association of D.C. Amicus Committee – On July 23, we hosted a program about the underrepresentation of women advocates before the Supreme Court. Among the panelists were the solicitor general of the United States and the assistant attorney general for the Office of Legal Counsel.
- Inclusion Roundtable Discussion – On July 29, the New York Asian Women Associates and New York Women of Color affinity groups sponsored a discussion of Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead. In his opening remarks, the firm's chair reiterated MoFo's ongoing commitment to the advancement of women.
- Women on Wednesdays – Our Women on Wednesdays series offers programming that highlights our women partners in various practice groups and offices.
- Business Development Monthly Series – We engaged a prominent women's business development consultant to lead us through a 10 month series of discussions to enhance the business develop skills of our women lawyers.
