Ms. Svilik is an associate in the Litigation Department of the San Francisco office of Morrison & Foerster. Ms. Svilik focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation and has been a member of four trial teams at Morrison & Foerster. In addition to litigating trademark, copyright, and patent infringement actions in federal court, Ms. Svilik has also represented clients in fair lending, environmental cleanup, and labor law matters. She actively participates in the firm's pro bono practice and represents several clients before the immigration court.

Ms. Svilik received her B.A. degree, with honors, from Stanford University. Ms. Svilik earned her J.D. from Boalt Hall, U.C. Berkeley School of Law in 2005, where she was a member of the California Law Review and served as executive editor and articles editor of the Ecology Law Quarterly.  She was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award for the highest academic achievement in Property Law. During law school, Ms. Svilik volunteered with the California Asylum Rights Clinic and was one of only two graduate students to study and perform regularly with the U.C. Berkeley Dance Department. After law school, Ms. Svilik clerked for the Honorable Paul C. Huck of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

SCO Group v. Novell
(District of Utah). Ms. Svilik was part of the team that represented Novell in the widely reported SCO v. Novell litigation. After a three-week jury trial in the case in March 2010, the jury affirmed Novell’s ownership of the UNIX software code and rejected SCO’s claim for damages of hundreds of millions of dollars. The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the district court’s judgment.
Autodesk v. SolidWorks
(Northern District of California). Ms. Svilik was part of the team that represented Autodesk in a trademark infringement action relating to the protectibility of Autodesk’s “DWG” mark. Autodesk obtained a consent judgment of trademark validity as part of the settlement.
