Recall. The mere mention of a product recall can bring dread to even the most reasonable and responsible manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers. To react responsibly and prevent a manageable problem from developing into a catastrophe, a company must be well-informed and prepared before a product crisis hits. This program will cover the following subjects:

  • An overview of Toyota’s recent recalls, including problems with, and lessons drawn from, Toyota’s response.
  • Lessons to be learned from past recalls with relatively good results for the companies involved.
  • Triggers for, and types of recalls in, the U.S., including CPSC, NHTSA, and FDA standards.
  • The potential positive and adverse legal and business implications of recalls.
  • Best practices and practical tips for preparing or planning to conduct product recalls.
