Randy Laxer serves as the co-chair of the firm's Global Corporate Department. His practice focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, strategic alliances and joint ventures. His experience in this area includes numerous inbound and outbound buyouts, complex international joint ventures and strategic and venture capital investments in high-tech, life sciences and media industries.

Mr. Laxer is highly recommended by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2013 edition and International Financial Law Review 2011 edition for his M&A and corporate law expertise. He is also the only foreign lawyer to be endorsed in the 2011/12 edition of Practical Law Company's Venture Capital multi-jurisdictional guide.

Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Mr. Laxer worked for O'Melveny & Myers LLP.  In addition to Tokyo, Mr. Laxer also has practiced in Silicon Valley and New York.

Mr. Laxer attended Konan University in Kobe, Japan and Stanford University’s Inter-University Center for Japanese Studies in Yokohama, Japan.  He is fluent in Japanese.

Represented Taisho Pharmaceutical in its acquisition of Bristol-Myers Squibb's Indonesia manufacturing and distribution subsidiary as well as brand rights for over-the-counter pharmaceutical products sold throughout Asia.
