Stacey Sprenkel is a senior associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office and a member of the firm’s Securities Litigation, Enforcement and White-Collar Defense Group. Her practice focuses on representing companies, audit committees, officers and directors in securities class actions, SEC investigations and enforcement proceedings, DOJ investigations and derivative actions. Ms. Sprenkel has experience conducting corporate internal investigations both domestically and internationally, and she regularly assists clients with conducting global risk assessments, and with developing, reviewing and implementing anti-corruption and other compliance policies and procedures. She conducts anti-corruption due diligence in connection with M&A and private equity transactions, and provides counseling on a broad range of compliance issues. She also represents clients in complex commercial litigation involving civil RICO and antitrust matters and in class actions, including litigating class certification issues.
Ms. Sprenkel was a member of the trial team in the matter of VCS v. Peake, a class action brought on behalf of veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder against the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for failure to provide statutorily mandated benefits and healthcare to returning troops.
The Daily Journal recently named Ms. Sprenkel among its Top Five Associates to Watch, part of the publication’s annual 20 Under 40 list highlighting California's emerging legal leaders. She was also recently recognized by The Recorder as among its Lawyers on the Fast Track, a list of attorneys practicing for less than ten years in California whose early accomplishments indicate they will be tomorrow’s top lawyers and leaders. Ms. Sprenkel has also been recommended as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers every year since 2009.
During law school, Ms. Sprenkel was the Editor-in-Chief of the Columbia Journal of European Law, and served as a research assistant to Professor George Bermann. She is admitted to practice in California.
