Takafumi Tsuruta is an associate of Ito & Mitomi. Mr. Tsuruta’s practice focuses on antitrust and competition law, particularly in relation to cartel investigations and merger filings, and also on employment law, including labor dispute resolution.
In 2011, Mr. Tsuruta was seconded to the Competition Enhancement Office of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) as deputy director for 13 months. During his term at METI, he engaged in various government industrial and competition policymaking projects, including analysis of concerted actions of companies in the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Tsuruta worked at another major international law firm in Tokyo. He has also worked in the legal department of a major Japanese optical instrument manufacturer.
