Takeo Mizutani is a registered Japanese Zeirishi (tax attorney). Before joining Morrison & Foerster Zeirisi Hojin (International Tax Office), he worked with White & Case Zeirishi Hojin (International Tax Office) in Tokyo for over seven years, prior to which he worked for three years with one of the major international accounting firms, where he specialized in tax advice to multinational banks, broker dealers and investment management companies. His activities included being temporarily transferred to one of the major Japanese securities companies, where he worked as a member of the project of amendment to securities taxation and provided various tax advisory services with respect to securities taxation.
Mr. Mizutani has also worked for six years with another international accounting firm, where he provided not only outbound tax advisory services, such as anti-tax haven legislation and foreign tax credit to Japanese corporations, but also inbound tax advisory services, such as permanent establishment issues and withholding tax issues to foreign corporations, including attending and handling the tax audits to these corporations.
