Guest speaker, Professor Philip Taylor of Strathclyde Business School at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, will present "Offshoring, Onshoring, Nearshoring, Rightshoring? The Changing Landscape of Global Service Delivery."
This presentation will analyze developments in the rapidly-changing landscape of the global sourcing of contact centers and BPO. Professor Taylor will draw on a decade's research and recent fieldwork conducted in remote destinations, including India and the Philippines. In addition to a comprehensive overview of the dynamics of offshoring, attendees will gain considerable insight into developments in onshoring and nearshoring, derived from the latest audit of contact centers and business process delivery in the UK and specifically Scotland. Professor Taylor will evaluate emerging industry dynamics in the wake of the recession and will argue that cost-cutting imperatives must be reconciled with the fundamental need to maintain service quality standards. He will also evaluate the extent and nature of re-shoring, the return of contact center services from India and elsewhere.
A moderated panel discussion featuring representative stakeholders from all sides of outsourcing transactions will immediately follow Professor Taylor's presentation.
