As the US capital markets continue to gain relative strength and longstanding regulatory uncertainties are resolved, ABS and MBS issuers are increasingly inquiring about the prospects for entering these markets once again. The years since the financial crisis have brought sweeping changes in the rules affecting structured finance in the US, and more changes are on the way. In this program, we will provide an overview of the principal US regulatory and market developments for ABS and MBS issuers in the US, including:
- State of the US ABS and MBS Markets
- Status of Dodd-Frank securitization reforms
- Regulation AB (I or II?)
- Commodity Pool Operator Regulation
- Consumer and Mortgage Lending Reforms
- Qualified Residential Mortgage Rules
- Conflicts of interest
- Securitization exemptions to the Volcker Rule
- End User swaps exemptions
We will also address the development of SEC registered covered bonds and the prospects for covered bond issuance by US banks.
PLI will offer CLE credit.
