Thomas McGovern is a partner in the firm's Real Estate Group. His practice involves all areas of real estate law, with particular focus on real estate finance and the restructuring and workout of trouble real estate loans.
Mr. McGovern represents institutional lenders providing financing to commercial real estate projects and borrowers throughout the United States and abroad, with respect to a wide variety of asset classes, including office building, multi-family, hotel, industrial, condominium, and land deals. He regularly represents lenders in connection with construction, mortgage, and mezzanine loans; fund, REIT, and bond transactions; sale-leasebacks; unsecured lines of credit; and warehouse lines.
Mr. McGovern also represents owners and developers in connection with real estate financings, leasing, the acquisition and disposition of properties, and real estate investment joint-ventures.
In recent years, his practice has focused heavily on the restructuring of troubled real estate loans and the exercise of remedies against defaulting borrowers and guarantors.
