Tihua Huang

Tihua Huang is an associate in Morrison & Foerster’s litigation group in the Washington, D.C. office.  Her practice focuses on intellectual property matters - particularly those before the U.S. International Trade Commission.  Ms. Huang has worked on cases involving a variety of technologies, including semiconductors, DVDs, light-emitting diodes, mobile imaging technology and composition and manufacture of rare earth magnets. She has also assisted with clients in antitrust matters, arbitration and internal investigations.

Before joining Morrison & Foerster, Ms. Huang served as a judicial intern for eight months to the Honorable Judge Arthur J. Gajarsa of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  In her capacity as a judicial intern, she performed extensive legal research, participated in conferences reviewing appeals before the Federal Circuit, composed memorandum and drafted opinions for publication.

Ms. Huang received her J.D., cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2010.  While in law school, she worked in the Domestic Violence Clinic, where she represented victims of family abuse in the District of Columbia Superior Court.  Ms. Huang was also a member of the law school’s Barrister’s Council and, as a member of the Georgetown Law team, won third prize in the Frankfurt International Investment Arbitration Moot Court.

Before entering the practice of law, Ms. Huang worked in the U.S. as a software engineer and consultant, leading various projects at National Institutes of Health involving grant applications.  Before Ms. Huang came to the U.S., she worked as an internal auditor at one of the largest airlines in China - China Southern Airlines (CSN), conducting numerous audits and complex investigations on more than 30 subsidiaries and branches of CSN.

Ms. Huang graduated, magna cum laude,from Xiamen University with a B.A. in Economics.  She received her master’s degree in accounting from the Catholic University of America in 2000, and her master’s degree in computer science from the Johns Hopkins University in 2002.  She is fluent in English and Mandarin.
