Tritia Murata is a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. Ms. Murata’s practice includes a broad range of commercial and employment litigation in both state and federal courts. She has litigated a number of complex lawsuits involving claims related to alleged misappropriation of trade secrets, employee and customer raiding, unfair competition, and wage and hour violations.
Ms. Murata has substantive trial and appellate experience. In addition, Ms. Murata has extensive class action experience and has successfully defeated class certification in multiple actions involving claims alleging wage and hour violations.
As a member of the firm's Employment and Labor Practice Group, Ms. Murata has experience defending and advising clients regarding a number of labor and employment law issues, including wrongful termination, employment discrimination, harassment, wage and hour laws, employment policies and procedures, trade secrets, and unfair competition.
The Recorder named Ms. Murata to its “2013 Lawyers on the Fast Track” list, which recognizes 50 attorneys in California with early career accomplishments that indicate they will be tomorrow’s top lawyers and leaders. In 2013, Ms. Murata was named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine.
Ms. Murata received her J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law in 2004, where she was an articles editor of the UCLA Law Review. She received her B.S. in 2001 from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was a Regents Scholar.
