William D. Sherman specializes in corporate and corporate securities practice. He has acted as counsel for both underwriters and companies in connection with more than 200 public offerings. His work involves regular contact with the staffs of the Division of Corporation Finance, Division of Market Regulation, and the Office of the General Counsel of the Securities and Exchange Commission. He is experienced in the qualification of stock offerings with the various state securities commissions and has broad experience in the offering review procedures of the National Association of Securities Dealers.
He has served as a co-chair of the firm's Corporate Group and as a co-chair for the Public Companies Group.
Mr. Sherman has been a member of the Federal Regulation of Securities Committee and the State Regulation of Securities Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Business Law.
Mr. Sherman has been a lecturer in the Haas Graduate School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley for more than 30 years and has been honored as an inaugural recipient of the Richard H. Holton Teaching Fellowship award. He regularly lectures on numerous panels designed for lawyers and business people interested in practical solutions to the business, legal, and accounting problems of both mature and developing companies. He was also a faculty member at Duke University Directors' College.
