The Morrison & Foerster Foundation is dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we live and work.  Established in 1986 as a separate nonprofit organization, the Foundation has been serving others through community-focused financial support for twenty-four years.  Its mission is purely charitable.

A lasting commitment to purposeful giving is one of the hallmarks of Morrison & Foerster.  The Foundation is truly exceptional among law firms.  The Foundation is funded by Morrison & Foerster partners, who donate one percent of their annual net income from the firm to the Foundation, and by firm employees and others.  As the firm has grown, so has the Foundation’s annual giving.  In 2009, the Foundation made charitable contributions of approximately $2.2 million.  Over the years, it has donated $27 million to nonprofit organizations, primarily at the local level.

In difficult economic conditions, giving to programs serving those most in need becomes more important than ever.  We are especially grateful to our partners and employees for their continued support.  Together, we are making a real difference, particularly for disadvantaged children and for low-income individuals seeking meaningful access to justice.
