Won a jury defense verdict in a patent infringement matter involving DVRs in the Eastern District of Texas for a large telecommunications satellite company - only the second defense jury verdict in a patent case handed down in that jurisdiction.

Won a complete jury defense verdict on behalf of a leading provider of broadband and optical solutions and three of its former executives in a class action seeking $20 billion for securities fraud and insider trading.

Represented a world leader in scar prevention and reduction research in an $825 million licensing agreement with a specialty biopharmaceutical company to develop and commercialize our clients lead drug in every country throughout the world except Member States of the European Union, the rights to which have been retained by our client.

Provided advice to a leading pharmaceutical and healthcare company in connection with an outsourcing transaction, which includes the harmonization of human resource policies in 72 countries as well as data privacy and data security compliance.

Served as counsel for 35 issuers and liaison counsel for 310 issuer defendants in the IPO Securities Litigation in the Southern District of New York, the largest set of consolidated securities class actions ever brought.

Obtained a temporary restraining order against four former employees of our client, a leading biopharmaceutical company based in Iceland, who had set up a competing genetics research facility at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Case eventually settled.

Represent a global aerospace company in coordinating the defense in 16 law suits arising from a crash of a Boeing Chinook helicopter off the coast of Greece. The suits allege defects in one of its helicopter's engines; trial is scheduled for June 2008.

Successfully upheld in the California Court of Appeals a decision involving city business license taxes on a company's gross receipts, which the lower court had held were unconstitutional during the period in question.

Represented a $1 billion purchase of 69 apartment buildings on behalf of an investment group, which was the largest residential real estate acquisition in the U. S. in the last four years.

Represented a $2.8 billion life sciences merger between a global healthcare company and a leading independent U.S. specialty pharmaceutical company.

Represented an $86 million offering on behalf of a Chinese provider of wireless services, one of the first IPOs in the China telecommunications sector.

Raised over $14 billion in debt offerings and other sophisticated alternative financings on behalf of a large global financial services conglomerate.

Overturned, as a direct result of the firm’s obtaining new evidence, the conviction of a man who had served 12 years in a state prison for a murder he did not commit.

Settled a landmark education class action suit in California on behalf of nearly 100 students who attended schools with substandard conditions.
