Norman R. Klivans, Jr. is an Of Counsel in the Palo Alto office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. His practice focuses on patent prosecution, litigation, counseling, and licensing issues facing technology companies. His technical expertise encompasses an array of electronic products and processes, including semiconductors, semiconductor equipment, lithography, computer peripherals, automotive electronics, lasers, optical communications, telephony, computer networks, Internet, and software.

Mr. Klivans received his law degree from Harvard School of Law in 1973 and his B.S. degree in Physics from Yale University in 1970. After graduating from Harvard, Mr. Klivans practiced general law for several years. He then went to Stanford University Graduate School of Business and obtained a MBA in 1978. After receiving his MBA, he worked in the electronics industry. In 1987, he returned to legal practice and joined the law firm of Skjerven Morrill and became a partner at that firm in 1992.

Mr. Klivans is a member of the State Bar of California, the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Law Association, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
