Erin Bosman is a partner in the Litigation Department of the San Diego office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. She has experience in product liability, pharmaceutical, aviation and patent litigation. Ms. Bosman has tried jury cases to verdict in state and federal court. She has taken and defended over 150 depositions of parties, expert witnesses, and third parties, argued dispositive motions and successfully argued before the California Court of Appeal.

Ms. Bosman received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego (1994) and her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law (magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, 1999). During law school she was an Editor for the San Diego Law Review.

Ms. Bosman’s representative cases include:

• Represents Honeywell International Inc. in the mid-air collision between a Boeing 737-800 operated by GOL Airlines and an Embraer Legacy operated by ExcelAire Service over the Amazon jungle in September 2006 which claimed the lives of 154 persons. The over 100 wrongful death cases filed in the United States have been transferred from seven different districts to multidistrict proceedings in the Eastern District of New York.
• Defended a major pharmaceutical company in mass tort litigation where she coordinated discovery for over 500 cases pending in federal and state courts. Ms. Bosman prepared ten cases for trial and was liaison with national counsel.
• Represented pharmaceutical company in a case regarding the provision of treatment in one of the company’s clinical drug studies.
• Represents DexCom, a San Diego based medical device manufacturer, in a patent infringement case with Abbott Laboratories filed in the District court of Delaware involving glucose monitoring patents.
• Represents a major pharmaceutical company in case alleging consumer fraud and violation of Confidentiality of Medical Information Act.
• Represented Alaska Airlines in the multi-district litigation involving wrongful death and survival claims by the heirs and estates of the 88 passengers and crew who perished in the crash of Alaska Airlines Flight 261 on January 31, 2000, near Point Mugu, California. In June, 2003, Ms. Bosman participated in jury selection for trial in the MDL court resulting in settlements prior to opening statements.
