Mr. Eschet is an attorney in the San Francisco office of Morrison & Foerster and a member of the firm’s Technology Transactions Group. His practice focuses on international and domestic business transactions involving intellectual property and technology, throughout the course of a company’s development, including structuring and negotiating commercial agreements and intellectual property licenses and advising clients on intellectual property, e-commerce, development, supply, distribution, and other matters relevant to technology companies. Mr. Eschet also represents clients in mergers & acquisitions, securities offerings and other corporate finance and general business matters. He has advised technology companies, primarily in the information technology, semiconductor, software, Internet, telecommunications, and medical device industries. Representative clients include Atmel, BEA Systems, Cowen, CEVA, Daifuku, DSP Group, Electroglas, Intel, JDS Uniphase, McKesson, Passave, Redpine Signals, Saifun, Syneron, Toshiba, Vuance, and Wacom.
Mr. Eschet is the Head of Morrison & Foerster’s Israel Desk and is admitted to practice law in both California and Israel. In his role as the Head of Israel Desk, he uses his knowledge of both Israeli and American business cultures and legal systems to help represent Israeli businesses in the United States and elsewhere, as well as global investors in their activities in Israel. Mr. Eschet also maintains an active pro bono practice.
Mr. Eschet received an LL.M. degree (Master of Laws) with high honors from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a John M. Olin fellow; an LL.B. degree (J.D. equivalent), summa cum laude, from the University of Haifa Faculty of Law; and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Haifa Department of Economics.
Mr. Eschet authored a legal academic paper on RFID technology that was published in Jurimetrics (the journal of the American Bar Association Section of Science and Technology Law) as well as several articles published by Haaretz, TheMarker, Globes and other business press.
Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Mr. Eschet held a research position at the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society, at UC Berkeley; teaching and research positions at the University of Haifa Faculty of Law; and worked at the business department of a leading Israeli law firm. Mr. Eschet is a Lieutenant in the Israel Defense Forces, where he served as a naval officer on missile boats.
