Jeff Temple joined Morrison & Foerster LLP as a partner in its Real Estate Group in 2004. He represents real estate investment fund sponsors, private equity investors, developers, lenders and owners in a broad range of real estate transactions throughout the United States and abroad.

Recently, Mr. Temple’s practice has concentrated on the representation of U.S. opportunity fund investors making strategic acquisitions and forming joint ventures with local partners in Europe and Asia. He also spends significant time representing foreign institutions making in-bound investments in U.S. commercial real estate. Mr. Temple also represents institutional domestic and foreign lenders in a variety of real estate financings, as well as a number of mezzanine capital providers in connection with both mezzanine debt and preferred equity investments.

As counsel for several real estate private equity funds, Mr. Temple has handled a variety of transactions involving the formation of joint ventures with various developers to acquire and develop commercial real estate. Following the formation of these ventures, he has represented these ventures in numerous complex acquisitions, financings and subsequent dispositions.

Mr. Temple has particular expertise in secured real estate financing transactions, including construction and development loans, permanent mortgages (both fee and leasehold), syndicated loans and complex multi-state secured credit facilities. He also has extensive experience representing financial institutions in the restructuring and workout of defaulted real estate loans.

He also represents owners, developers and investors in office buildings, hotels, recreational facilities and other types of properties in the development, acquisition, management, financing and disposition of such commercial properties.

Mr. Temple is experienced in the drafting and negotiation of leases of office, industrial, retail and other types of commercial facilities in New York and throughout the United States on behalf of both landlords and tenants and in related brokerage arrangements.

Mr. Temple received his B.A., cum laude, with honors from Bucknell University and his J.D. from George Washington University National Law Center, where he was a member of The Law Review. He is admitted to practice in New York.
