Mr. Forrester received his B.A. from St. Mary’s College in 1993, his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1996 and his L.L.M., in Securities and Finance Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center in 2002. During law school he was the managing editor of the McGeorge Law Review. Mr. Forrester is admitted to practice in all California state and federal courts, and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Forrester is a partner in the Corporate Group of Morrison & Foerster. His practice focuses on representing emerging growth and established companies in general corporate matters, with an emphasis on capital markets transactions and ongoing 1934 Act compliance matters. In addition, Mr. Forrester has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions involving both public and private companies and in strategic partnering transactions, including joint ventures and licensing arrangements. Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, he was a partner in the San Diego office of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. Mr. Forrester began his corporate practice with Arent Fox Kintner Plotkin & Kahn in Washington, D.C. He is a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Securities Regulation. Mr. Forrester was named to the 2007 Top 40 Under 40 persons in finance by Investment Dealers Digest in December 2007. In 2008, Mr. Forrester authored the inaugural edition of Fiduciary Duties and Other Responsibilities of Corporate Directors and Officers (R.R. Donnelley Capital Markets – publisher).

- Represented Barney & Barney in its acquisition of Saylor & Hill, Inc.
- Represented Navigant Capital Advisors, LLC in connection with its provision of advisory services to special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Jaguar Acquisition Corporation in connection with its acquisition of China Cablecom.
- Represented Fuji Food Products, Inc. in corporate restructuring and Series A preferred stock offering.
- Represented Orange 21, Inc. in proposed acquisition of No Fear, Inc.
- Represented ALJ Regional Holdings, Inc. in $42 million corporate restructuring.
- Represented Multi-Fineline Electronix, Inc. in $500 million acquisition offer of Singapore-based MFS Technology Ltd.
- Represented Multi-Fineline Electronix, Inc. in acquisition of Applied Optics, Inc.
- Represented Biolase Technology, Inc. in acquisition of intellectual property from Diodem, LLC
- Represented MediciNova, Inc. in $107 million initial public offering
- Represented Thomas Weisel Partners in $30 million initial public offering of Axesstel, Inc.
- Represented private sellers in $80 million sale of a steel mill to YouthStream Media Networks, Inc.
- Represented Multi-Fineline Electronix, Inc. in formation of joint venture with Mobility, Inc.
- Represented Xcel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in $280 million sale to Valiant Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
- Represented Multi-Fineline Electronix, Inc. in $70 million initial public offering (ranked by Investors Business Daily as the top rated IPO during 1998 to 2005 period)
- Represented Orange 21 in $21 million initial public offering
- Represented MusicMatch, Inc. in $150 million sale to Yahoo
- Represented Idec Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in $14 billion merger with Biogen, Inc., including the registration and offering of $7 billion of Idec Pharmaceuticals, Inc.'s Common Stock
- Represented Xcel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in initial public offering
- Represented Idec Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in $657 million follow-on offering
- Represented Idec Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in $1.2 billion offering of Liquid Yield Option Notes (LYONs)
- Represented Thomas Weisel Partners in $115 million follow-on offering of Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
- Represented Trega Biosciences, Inc. in sale to LION Bioscience AG
- Represented Alliance Pharmaceuticals Corp. in acquisition of Molecular Biosystems, Inc.
